Traditional Thai Massage With Mimi
Receiving authentic Thai Yoga massage is an amazing experience.
The flow from passive stretching to acupressure and energy line work creates a treatment that is both relaxing and invigorating. Yet through the manipulation of body weight, treatments will still work deep into the muscle tissue.
Mimi leads an active life-style and regularly practices gymnastics, movement flow and yoga. So, it's with a keen understanding of the body and the stresses placed on it, both in and out of physical exercise, that Mimi has found her path in to body work.
You can book in with Mimi directly 07582 291774 firstname.lastname@example.org
She is available for home visits as well as treating people at Project Me, Crouch End.
Most of the strength training I do with people is with body weight. What that means is you will learn to move your body better and you will have your gym with you anywhere you go!
I incorporate: gymnastic rings, crawling movements, squatting patterns and martial arts drills to develop core control, build size, tone up and everything else you'd expect from a strength training program.
Kick Boxing is a great way to blow off steam.
It requires dynamic strength, flexibility and a mean core to deliver a really satisfying thwack on the pads.
Don't worry if you've never tried it before, training is completely non-contact... unless you're a seasoned vet. and want to take things up a notch. I train people of all levels and all walks of life.
It's just really good fun!
When it comes to mobility, there are a few ingredients:
1) Flexibility. How long are your muscles? Can you touch your toes? Can you do the splits?
2) Strength. Can you move into and out of those end range positions without collapsing under the strain?
3) Control. Can you use your flexibility and the strength you possess to move with control and precision through intricate patterns? Can you create dynamic, fluid movements or generate explosive power?
These three things are key to cooking up a batch of truly delicious mobility and once you taste the possibilities, you'll be hooked! You will have opened the doors to any number of sports and activities including gymnastics, martial arts, yoga, dance and many, many more!
I get bored in the gym!
The idea of counting out sets and reps of mundane, mind numbing exercises doesn't tickle my fancy at all. I'd rather be out playing!
Bringing that youthful exuberance in to being physically active again is much more enticing!
You'll get the idea when you give it a try. But don't confuse 'playing' with 'taking it easy'. It ain't no walk in the park!
Coming from a martial arts background, meditation was a key part of our training. The goal is to quiet the mind... but what does that mean? And where's the nearest mountain top?
Have you ever been out to with friends having a good catch up over dinner and when the food comes everyone goes quiet? All thoughts other than those engrossed with the enjoyment of the flavours have disappeared.
Or what about being so completely engaged in a book that you forgot to have lunch? We've all heard someone say how going for a run helps clear their head.
Meditation can be anything. A single focus pursuit that allows us to be present in the moment.
I bring elements of meditation into the training we do. It doesn't mean we sit down and 'do nothing', but rather, there will be moments when you realise you have escaped the world briefly.
It's a mini mind holiday... a reset. They leave you feeling really good!
